Ontario, CA – The Ontario Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint on September 22, 2017 at an undisclosed location within the city limits between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

This shooting appears to have resulted from a dispute over payment, involving prostitution. The victim, 44-year-old Irwin Myland of Rancho Cucamonga, was shot while still in the hotel room and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Detectives were able to gather enough information to identify the suspects and their vehicle. 24-years-old Fernando Covarrubias, out of Fresno, is suspected of being the shooter.

Detectives are investigating what happened to a man who was found dead inside a refrigerator. The refrigerator had been dumped onto the northbound lane of traffic in the 700 block of South Hope Ave.

Police received a call at approximately 6:00am from a man on his way to work who found the refrigerator dumped onto the street. When he got out to see what was going on, he discovered the dead body partially hanging out of the refrigerator and called the police.
