Traffic investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a fatal hit and run collision that occurred last year.

On November 8, 2018 at approximately 5:33 PM, Guillermo Manzo was struck by a motorist while attempting to cross the street in the intersection of N. Mountain Avenue and W. Flora Street.

The suspect vehicle is a plum colored 2004-2006 Scion XB. The vehicle should have collision damage to the front of the vehicle.

Ontario Police investigators recovered $10,000 of stolen band equipment that was taken during a burglary at Ontario High School.

An OPD school resource officer reviewed hours of surveillance video which depicted two suspects and a vehicle involved in the theft. Suspect, Mark Souza, age 42 of Ontario, was contacted at his residence and fled from officers. He was apprehended a short time later with the use of a police service dog. Once in custody, Souza was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries which he sustained during the apprehension.

Ontario, Calif. – The Ontario Police Department is joining the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS), law enforcement, community groups, cities, counties, and other traffic safety partners to raise awareness about pedestrian safety.

September is Pedestrian Safety Month, and California, as well as the rest of the country, is grappling with how to address the rising number of pedestrians killed and injured.

On August 14, 2019 at approximately 1:20 AM the Ontario Fire Department responded to a reported commercial fire located in 100 block of E. Main St. The fire was well involved upon arrival, and the structure was ultimately destroyed. 

The Ontario Fire Department Investigations Unit determined through their investigation that the fire was intentionally set.  In the subsequent 48 hours, with additional help from local business owners and residents, the investigation lead to an arson suspect being identified.

Ontario Police continue their investigation into the death of two children in the 500 block of East Tam o’Shanter Street. The mother has been identified as the lone suspect in the homicides.

Ontario Police were called to the 500 block of East Tam o’Shanter Street yesterday just after 4:00 PM for “unknown trouble” and discovered two deceased children in the garage of the residence. The father, who was not home at the time of the incident, called police when he discovered his two children deceased, and his wife unresponsive.
