Congratulations to the residents of the City of Ontario for being awarded 6th place in the National Night Out event, in Category 2, with populations from 100K- 300K. The award was received from the National Association of Town Watch, the sponsor of the national community crime and safety event.

National Night Out took place on August 1, 2017 and saw 16,337 communities across the country come together with local law enforcement to share smiles, food and reaffirm a vested interest to make neighborhoods safer.

Ontario Police have arrested a man for the shooting death of his mother which occurred at their home in the City of Ontario.

On December 25th at approximately 4:35 PM, Ontario Police Officers responded to the 1300 block of North Vine Avenue for a call of a possible shooting. The caller told police dispatch that he had accidentally shot his mother. Responding officers contacted the male who was taken into custody without incident. This holiday season, Ontario Police Department will work around the clock to keep drivers and passengers safe as they search for impaired drivers. From December 15, 2017 through January 1st, law enforcement is partnering with the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in a special year-end Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement mobilization to get impaired drivers off the street and to spread the word about this dangerous crime.

The Ontario Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint on December 15, 2017 at an undisclosed location within the city limits between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

Police have arrested the juvenile suspect seen in the video throwing a cat into the street.

Police were notified early Saturday morning of a video depicting a male subject intentionally throwing a cat into the street. Officers immediately started investigating the incident and were able to identify the suspect later that afternoon. Police have been working leads since that time and located the suspect on foot at approximately 1:45pm this afternoon.

Ontario Officers spotted the suspect near 7th Street and Berlyn Ave in the City of Upland, at approximately 1:45pm.

Detectives are looking into what led up to the double stabbing on Friday night in the 800 block of East Nocta Street.

On Friday, December 1, 2017, at approximately 6:40 pm Officers were sent to a large fight call involving several subjects in the middle of the street.

When officers arrived several people scattered leaving two subjects behind, both suffering from stab wounds.

One victim, a 16 year-old Ontario, resident was air lifted to Loma Linda Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.
