The Ontario Fire Department responded to a pallet fire next to a business at 2313 S. Baker Avenue.  At 1:23 PM, the Ontario Fire Dispatch Center received a 911 call reporting pallets on fire to the rear of the structure.  At 1:28 PM, the first arriving Engine Company found a large column of smoke and fire coming from a storage area behind the building, with flames beginning to impinge on the building.  Fire attack was immediately initiated.  Primary and secondary searches for victims were completed, and no victims were located.  The fire was confined to… Read More

A new exhibit, Lunar New Year: Blossoms of Spring will be on view from Thursday, February 8, 2018 to Sunday, March 4, 2018.  The Ontario Museum of History & Art is showcasing the Chinese calligraphy and brush painting of the multiethnic group, Sea of Ink Society, in honor of the Lunar New Year, the most important holiday in China – a combination of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s all rolled into one. The exhibit will be curated by Shantien Tom Chow.

Ontario Police Department will step up Bike & Pedestrian Safety Enforcement Operations on January 16, 2018 with focused enforcement on collision causing factors involving motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists.

The department has mapped out locations over the past three years where pedestrian and bike collisions have occurred along with the violations that led to those crashes. Extra officers will be on duty patrolling areas where bike and pedestrian traffic and crashes occur in an effort to lower deaths and injuries.

Detectives are releasing the booking photograph of Youth Pastor Gerardo Custodio Jr., believing there may be additional victims or witnesses and they are encouraging them to come forward.

Gerardo Custodio Jr. has been the Youth Pastor for many years at the Iglesia La Familia De Dios Church located at 1305 North Euclid Avenue in Ontario. Gerardo Custodio Jr. was away from the church while attending college but has been back since 2011.
