The City of Ontario is pleased to announce that the next citywide yard (garage) sale weekend is May 4, 5, and 6, 2018 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). If rainy conditions exist on that Friday or Saturday, an alternate yard sale may be held on May 18, 19, and 20, 2018 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) to recognize the observance of Mother's Day on Sunday, May 13.

Ontario Police have arrested a suspect who set off two explosive devices at Sam’s Club.

On April 5, 2018, at approximately 2:08 PM, Ontario Police Officers responded to the Sam’s Club located at 951 N. Milliken Avenue in the City of Ontario for a call of a possible structure fire. Officers arriving on scene quickly determined the fire was related to an explosive device that was detonated by a man who had fled the store prior to police arrival.

The City of Ontario will be recognizing the winners of the 2018 Water Conservation Poster Contest (hosted in cooperation with the Chino Basin Water Conservation District) at the City Council meeting on April 3, 2018.

Over 900 entries were received from Ontario students in kindergarten through 5th grade, and two winning posters were chosen from each grade level. The winning students and their families are invited to attend the City Council meeting on April 3, 2018, to receive recognition for their creative contributions to water conservation in the City of Ontario.

The City of Ontario partnered with the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) to construct a traffic management center (TMC) within the City’s Emergency Operations Center.  This project accelerates the implementation of traffic signal coordination, ramp metering, and technology enhancement projects, with the objective of improving air quality for the City.
