In May 2007, the Ontario City Council enacted an ordinance which reaffirmed existing Ontario Municipal Codes prohibiting fireworks and declared fireworks within the City of Ontario a nuisance, carrying a $1,000 fine. This fine is in addition to any other civil penalty, criminal prosecution or fine. Ontario revised the ordinance in October 2015 to include: 

The Ontario Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on Friday, June 24, 2016, at an undisclosed location within the city limits between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

The City of Ontario will host several family friendly events on Monday, July 4, 2016. The annual parade will begin at 9 AM on southbound Euclid Avenue beginning at Fourth Street and ending at B Street. Following the parade will be the All-States Picnic and concert by the Ontario/Chaffey Community Show Band in downtown Ontario.
