Ontario - On October 31, 2021, at approximately 3:00 AM, Ontario Police began investigating an assault that stemmed from an incident in the City of Upland, earlier that evening. The two female victims were followed to a home in Ontario by the same male suspect who assaulted them earlier. He attacked both women a second time by punching and knocking them to the ground. He then fled the scene with one of the victim’s cell phones.

Ontario Police are investigating a shooting that led to the death of an 18- year-old male, in the 700 block of E. Bonnie Brae Court.

Police were called to the scene of the shooting Saturday morning at 12:06 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Ontario Fire Department. The Ontario Police Department will roll out a police traffic services program to deter dangerous and illegal driving behaviors that increase the risk of crashes in the community.

“Impairment, speeding and other dangerous driving behaviors jeopardize the safety of other people on the road,” Ontario Police Chief Mike Lorenz said. “This funding allows us to provide necessary traffic enforcement measures with the goal of reducing serious injury and fatal crashes on our roads.”

As part of Pedestrian Safety Month, the Ontario Police Department is supporting efforts throughout September to improve pedestrian safety and help reduce crashes and injuries.

Pedestrians are more and more at risk on the road. Based on data from the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), 2020 had the largest ever annual increase, 21 percent, in the rate at which drivers struck and killed pedestrians. Ontario, CA – The Ontario Police Department has arrested five suspects believed to be involved in a shootout, which occurred in the 1500 N. block of Solano Avenue, Ontario, on February 17, 2021. This was a joint effort with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the United States Marshal Service Fugitive Taskforce.
