The Ontario Police Department, in partnership with the Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC), are taking an active approach on educating employees of licensed liquor locations.

The Ontario Police Department has received funding from the Alcoholic Beverage Control’s Grant Assistance Program (GAP) to conduct educational inspections. This program is referred to as IMPACT inspections. On June 11, 2018 at approximately 10:06pm, Officers were sent to the 900 block of N. Duesenberg regarding an unresponsive woman. Family members of Madis Tolentino (a 48-year-old Ontario resident) found her unresponsive in the residence and immediately called for emergency services.

Ontario Fire Department Paramedics came to the location and determined that Ms. Tolentino was deceased.

The San Bernardino County Coroner’s office was notified. During the initial examination by the coroner’s investigator, there were indications that Ms. Tolentino’s death was not natural.… Read More

71 local government agencies awarded a total of $37.5 Million in grants to reduce illegal sales of cigarettes and tobacco products to minors and youth

Today, the Ontario Police Department was awarded $45,200 in state grant funding from California Attorney General Xavier Becerra to combat the illegal sale of cigarettes and tobacco products to minors. The grants, $37.5 million in total, were distributed to 71 local entities throughout the state. Ontario Police have arrested a man during an undercover operation targeting the sale of illegal and dangerous fireworks.

Ernesto Jimenez, a 23-year-old man from Riverside, was arrested Thursday after selling illegal fireworks to undercover officers. Jimenez, who was advertising through a social media website, was found to be in possession of explosive aerial fireworks known as mortars. While fireworks classified as “safe and sane” may be legal in some jurisdictions, possession of this type of dangerous firework in the state of California is a felony.

Officers from the Ontario Police Department cited two clerks for selling alcohol to minors on June 9, 2018. The actions were the result of a minor decoy operation in which minors, under the direct supervision of department investigators, attempted to purchase alcohol from 13 retail licensees in the City of Ontario.
