Ontario Police have arrested a man believed to be responsible for two stabbings that took place at De Anza Park and Cypress Park yesterday.
The first incident occurred at De Anza Park at approximately 10:20 AM when the suspect, David Joseph Moreno, age 27 of Ontario, used a knife to attack a man without provocation. The victim was able to fight off the attack but did receive a non-life threatening injury to his neck.
Moreno then drove to Cypress Park where he used a knife to attack a second male victim. Moreno knew the second victim prior to the attack. The male was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries caused by the stabbing.
OPD patrol officers were able to identify Moreno based on prior contacts and information received from the investigation.
At approximately 1:00 PM, the Ontario Police Career Criminal Division and Multi Enforcement Team located Moreno at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Budd Street where he was apprehended without incident. Moreno was in possession of a knife at the time of his arrest. He has been booked at West Valley Detention Center on two counts of attempted murder.
Moreno’s girlfriend, Taylor Willis, age 21 of Rancho Cucamonga was with Moreno at the time of his arrest. She was arrested as an accessory to attempted murder but was later released pending further investigation.
