Ontario, CA – The Ontario Police have arrested two men believed to be involved in an assault, which occurred at the Ontario Mills Mall.
On April 4, 2021 at 5:15 PM, suspects, Tuvorius Mencer and Terrell Plaines, physically assaulted an Asian couple after having an exchange of words regarding social distancing while inside of the Levi’s Outlet Store. During the incident, the suspects punched the victims multiple times, causing visible injuries. Two additional victims were also physically assaulted by the suspects when they attempted to intervene.
An Ontario Police Officer was also assaulted by Mencer while attempting to prevent him from fleeing. Mencer, a 34-year old male, from Hemet was taken into custody at the scene and booked at the West Valley Detention Center on the charges of violation of civil rights, felony assault, and assault on a peace officer. Suspect Terrell Plaines, a 31-year old male, from Hemet, fled from the scene and was arrested at his residence in the 1500 block of Calathea in the city of Hemet today. Plaines will be booked on the charge of violation of civil rights and felony assault.
