Today at approximately 11:30am, officers arrested 23-year-old Jonathan Buckley of Rancho Cucamonga, on an attempted murder warrant.
On Monday, March 20th, at approximately 5:44pm, several calls were received in reference to a shooting that had just occurred near the intersection of Riverside Drive and Turner Ave.
When police arrived they found the victim, a 26-year-old male from Colton, with a single gunshot wound in the back.
Investigators discovered that this shooting was the result of a personal dispute between both sides that has been going on for several years. Both parties were in the area in separate cars when they saw each other and started to
exchange words. They continued the confrontation around the corner onto Turner Ave. When they stopped, Buckley jumped out of the SUV and started firing from a handgun into the victim’s car. After the shooting Buckley fled the area in a black SUV.
The victim was transported to a local are hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
Police have located both vehicles and recovered a handgun. This incident does not appear to be gang related.
