Detectives are still investigating what led up to Sarah Gomez (19) running over her 21-year-old boyfriend and their 7-month-old baby.
Police were called at 11:40 pm in reference to the incident. All three involved ended up at a local area hospital.
Based on the initial investigation, Gomez, her boyfriend and their 7-month-old baby were at a family gathering a few blocks away from their home. Gomez drove them home and ended up in the driveway of their residence in the 500 block of West D Street. An argument led to the boyfriend exiting the car and holding the baby.
Gomez was driving the car when she struck her boyfriend and their 7-month-old with the vehicle. All three were transported to the hospital by a family member. The baby did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Detectives interviewed Gomez and impounded the car she was driving.
Sarah Gomez, 19, of Ontario, has been arrested and is being charged with VC 23153(A) DUI: alcohol/drugs resulting in great bodily injury or death; VC 23153(B) DUI .08 alcohol causing bodily injury or death; PC 192(C) (1) Vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence; PC 273A (A) child cruelty producing great bodily injury or death. She has been transported to the West Valley Detention Center where her bail has been set at $100,000.
