Ontario Police arrested two suspects involved in a home invasion robbery that occurred last night.
On January 31, at approximately 10:15 PM, Ontario Police Dispatch received a disturbance call in the 3200 block of South Centurion Place in which two masked males were seen running from a garage. Within three minutes, an Ontario officer located a vehicle as it was leaving the neighborhood.
The suspect led officers on a short pursuit in which a handgun was thrown from the vehicle and recovered by officers. After a short time, the suspect yielded and was taken into custody without incident. A second suspect, fled from the vehicle on foot during the pursuit. An extensive search, involving two canine teams and a police helicopter was conducted in the area. The search was successful and after about three hours, the suspect was taken into custody using a police canine.
The investigation revealed the vehicle the suspects fled in belonged to the victim and was taken in the robbery.
The two adult suspects were booked at the West Valley Detention Center on charges including Home Invasion Robbery, Carjacking, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Criminal Threats.
