The City of Ontario will host the Annual Fire Department Open House on Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The annual open house event is the start to National Fire Prevention Week. This year’s theme, “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware – fire can happen anywhere,” works to educate people about essential steps to take to reduce the likelihood of having a fire and what to do should an emergency occur.
The Ontario Fire Department Open House is an exciting way for the community to meet their local first responders. Come learn more about the services they provide and learn valuable information about fire prevention. Children will have an opportunity to visit the fire safety house, spray a real fire hose and take pictures with Sparky the Fire Dog. This event is free and open to the public.
The event will feature live firefighting and rescue demonstration and displays of fire apparatus. Local agencies and organizations will also be on hand sharing information from American Medical Response, California Highway Patrol and several City of Ontario departments. The Ontario Fire Explorers will be hosting a fundraiser by selling food and refreshments.
The event will be held at Ontario Fire Training Center, located at 1408 E. Francis Street, Ontario. For more information, please call (909) 395-2029.
