James Milhiser was appointed City Treasurer in April 1998, elected in 2000 and re-reelected every four years. He has 40 years of experience in financial services. He grew up in Ontario and attended local schools.

He is involved in many local organizations and has served on the board of the Salvation Army, OPARC and BIA Baldy View. He is a strong supporter of healthy living and served on the Board of Trustees of San Antonio Regional Hospital. He currently serves on the board of the Ontario Cemetery Association, Friends of the Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band and the San Antonio Hospital Foundation.

He graduated from Chaffey High School, Chaffey College and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He successfully completed a three year program at Pacific Coast Banking School, held at the University of Washington. 

He was recognized as a Chaffey College Alumni of the Year and inducted into the Chaffey College Hall of Fame in 2010. James received the Ontario Montclair School District Model of Excellence award in 2017.

He resides in the family home his parents built.
