Join Benjamin Jenkins, Archivist and Associate Professor of History at the University of La Verne, for an enlightening discussion of his book, Octopus's Garden: How Railroads and Cirtus Transformed Southern California. Professor Jenkins will tell the story of how citrus and the railroad brought prosperity to communities like Ontario, focusing on commercial, environmental and labor history as he explores the roles the railroad and citrus played in bringing prosperity to Southern California.
