Ontario Museum of History & Art, Associates' 11th Biennial Ontario Invitational Art Exhibition February 10 Through April 17, 2022

The Ontario Museum of History & Art, and Museum Associates present the 11th Biennial Ontario Invitational Art exhibition. Opening Thursday, February 10 and running through Sunday, April 17, 2022, nine artists were selected by juror Kathryn Ervin, a professor in the Department of Theatre Arts at California State University, San Bernardino, to participate from the 2021 Ontario Open Art Exhibition. The winning artists are Pechez Sepehri, Annie Toliver, Mary Hughes. Honorable Mentions are Rick Cummings, Dr. Patricia Jessup-Woodlin, Viktoria Romanova, Frank Carrillo, and City Council Liaison Award winners A.G. Castañeda and Linda Garcia-Dahle. Museum visitors will be able to enjoy a wide range of works in various media, including textiles, large abstract paintings, geometric paintings with bright bold colors and assemblage. Each of the exhibiting artists are excited to present their expertise in sculpture, recreating scenes in oil paintings, utilizing shades of watercolor, and acrylic paintings.

The Museum will be hosting a reception on Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 6 PM – 9 PM.

Demonstration workshops that will be held in conjunction with the exhibition:

Dragon Egg Painting Saturday, March 5, 2022 (1 PM – 3 PM)
Spend the afternoon with dynamic Papier-mâché dragon artist, Frank Carrillo and decorate your very own real-life pre-made dragon egg with your friends and family! Please call the Museum to register. Open to all ages.

Water Wise Garden Rock Painting Saturday, March 19, 2022 (1 PM – 3 PM)
Take a stroll at the Museum and collect a rock to decorate for our Water Wise Garden with local painter, Pechez Sepehri. We will use rocks as our canvas and create a colorful path to add to the vibrancy of our gardens. Please call the Museum to register. Open to ages 5+.

The Art of Assemblage Saturday, March 26, 2022 (1 PM – 3 PM)
Learn about the artistic process of assemblage with Dr. Patricia Jessup-Woodlin. Spark your inner creativity using jewelry, watches, glasses cases, wires, small computer parts, and much more. Please call the Museum to register.

Textiles and More! Saturday, April 2, 2022 (1 PM – 3 PM)
Join folk artist Annie Toliver and learn about the Zentangle Method™. This method is an easy to learn, fun and relaxing way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns using various textiles. Ms. Toliver will share examples of their own work and how they use different textiles to share a story. Please call the Museum to register. Open to ages 12+.
