Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must have valid high school diploma or equivalent
- Must have a valid California Department of Motor Vehicles Class C Drivers License
Desirable
- Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B)
If you are new, welcome! We understand that starting out in the fire service can be intimidating and difficult to navigate, here are a few resources to help with information as you being your journey!
Different colleges will offer different aspects of fire service educations. Depending on the college, you can obtain an Associates Degree in Fire Technology, complete a Firefighter 1 certified Fire Academy, obtain an EMT-B certificate or obtain a paramedic license. Salary
Members of the Ontario Fire Department are paid in accordance to their Memorandum of Understanding between Ontario Professional Firefighters Association and the City of Ontario.
