Ontario, CA – Ontario Police arrested a man suspected of street racing that resulted in a fatal traffic collision earlier this month.
This collision took place Thursday, April 9, 2020 at 3:30 PM when the suspect and another vehicle were street racing in the area of Euclid Avenue and Riverside Drive. One of the vehicles lost control at a high rate of speed and struck several trees, killing the passenger. The suspect drove over debris and fled the scene.
Investigators identified Ruben Lopez Gomez, a 22-year-old male from Chino as the suspect that fled the scene. He was arrested in the city of Chino on Friday, April 17th without incident. Lopez has been booked at the West Valley Detention Center on charges of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run resulting in death.
