The Ontario City Council has big things planned for the Library in 2020!
The Ontario City Library is the recipient of a $71,000 grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
This money is being used for an early learning initiative for young children, their parents and caregivers called LITTLE LEARNERS, BIG FUTURES.
This initiative will bring library staff to high-traffic neighborhoods to provide services and resources to families with young children in the form of pop-up programs that will expand access to early childhood learning opportunities. These programs will support parents and caregivers as their child’s first teacher: providing exposure to early childhood learning activities, expert led sessions, and raise early childhood development and school readiness awareness in the community. Success starts at home and we want to support our Ontario families.
Expect to see us out and about a little more this year! We'll be announcing the first wave of Little Learners, Big Futures programming soon.
