Ontario, CA - Ontario Police have arrested a suspect who was wanted for a shooting that occurred this morning.
On March 2, 2019 at approximately 11:46 AM, Ontario Police responded to a call of a shooting that occurred at 1117 N. Baker Avenue (Red Carpet Motel). The suspect, Maximino Marcos, a 31-year-old male from Ontario, was upset over the victim’s relationship with his girlfriend and shot the victim multiple times. Maximino fled the scene prior to police arrival.
The victim, a 24-year-old male adult from El Monte, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Ontario Fire Department.
Ontario Police Detectives along with forensic investigators responded to the scene. Through investigative efforts and the interviewing of witnesses, suspect Maximino was identified as the shooter.
The Ontario Police Multi-Enforcement Unit located Maximino just after 3:30 PM in the City of Montclair and took him into custody without incident. Ontario Police Detectives later recovered a firearm believed to have been used in the murder.
Maximino has been booked at the West Valley Detention Center on charges of murder.
