The Ontario Military Banner Program was first launched and maintained by the Ontario Business Council. It was established to honor and recognize active duty military personnel that reside in, or have immediate family living in the City of Ontario. Military Banners recognize the service member, to include their name, rank, and branch of the United States Armed Forces.
After several years with the Ontario Business Council, the City of Ontario will relaunch the Military Banner Program in an effort to preserve it and honor those who serve in our country’s Armed Forces. Many of the banners have become weathered and faded over the years. They have been taken down and given to the service member or family upon request.
The relaunch of the program will be handled by the City of Ontario. The city will design, print and hang the banner for a year for a fee. However, no service member or family shall be denied the opportunity to participate in the program based on the ability to pay the fee. We hope to have our newest service members recognized and honored in the Military Banner Program this November when we recognize Military Family Month and Veterans Day.
The City of Ontario wishes to thank the Ontario Business Council’s support of the men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces. The City of Ontario will announce the new application process in November 2019 with the expectation of new banners being introduced in early 2020.
