Officers from the Ontario Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Team will be deploying this weekend to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers in the department’s ongoing traffic safety campaign. DUI Saturation Patrols will deploy on Friday, May 27, 2016 between the hours of 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. in areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and / or arrest.

Ontario’s Mayor and City Council will host a grand opening ceremony for the new Schimmel Dog Park at John Galvin Park this Friday, May 20 at 2 PM. This new dog park, located at the northeast corner of Cucamonga Avenue and I Street, offers picnic tables and benches, California friendly landscape and drip irrigation, synthetic turf area, decomposed granite trail and dog area surface, natural tree logs, natural gravel bio swales, and dog toys.

From May 23 to June 5, 2016, local law enforcement personnel will participate in the national Click It or Ticket campaign in an effort to save lives through increased seat belt use. This education enforcement period comes ahead of the Memorial Day holiday, one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.

The Ontario Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint on Friday, May 20, 2016, at an undisclosed location within the city limits between the hours of 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
